Parents of Konstantin Nörenberg

Konstantin Nörenberg was born December 11, 1889 in Elisabethpol, Vladimir-Volhynia. Fortunately for us researchers, his baptism record survives on microfilm.1Evangelische Kirche Włodzimierz (Wołyń), Kirchenbuch,1871-1899; Taufen 1881-1897 — Tote1881-1898 (Elizabetpol). Marriage

From the church baptism record book of Elisabethpol, we know that Konstantin’s parents were Michael Nörenberg and Louise (pronounced Louisa) Schröder. Michael Nörenberg

Konstantin was only five years old when his father died.

 

 

Louise Schröder

In 1909, when Konstantin immigrated to the United States, his mother was still alive. However, she did not survive much longer.

A kind genealogy volunteer obtained this death record from the Volyn Archive in Ukraine.

Another kind volunteer translated this document:

On 25 September 1909 at 4 o’clock in the morning in the village of Elisabetpol died of consumption (tuberculosis) Louise Nörenberg, née Schröder, a widow to her already-deceased husband Michael Nörenberg. She was born in the town of Rawa of Piotrków Governorate and was 67 years old. Her body was buried by cantor G. Koss on 27th September of this year [1909] in the parish cemetery of Elisabetpol.

At the age of 19, Konstantin was an orphan living in a foreign land.
