(Actual) Christmas at the Archives

In April of 2022, I secured a Research Appointment at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Even though it was not my first trip to the repository, it felt like Christmas. My “gifts” consisted of several original Homestead applications.

Fast forward to December 2024, I was like a kid with a pocket full of gift cards that must be spent! First, I had a pre-paid week at the Georgetown Doubletree that needed to be booked before the end of the year. Second, my Delta Sky Miles account had enough points for a round-trip flight to Washington Reagan National Airport. Third, I had a girlfriend free to join me in a week’s worth of Christmas fun. Most importantly, the National Archives was accepting Research Appointments.

The Library of Congress is free for tours and for researchers

 

 

The Daughters of the American Revolution Library is free and open to the public for research
